Terrified

This morning when I got up, I felt completely normal. I went to the bathroom, washed my hands and then went to get Zac up for school. I started talking to him and nothing came out right. I was terrified. I didn't mumble I just said random words after words after words. They didn't make any sense, I just woke random words. Then I started crying I was so scared, didn't know what was going on. Zac took me in his arms and tried to get me to stop crying. I finally settled down but words didn't make any sense. He woke Zoe up as my words were still all mixed up, She was way too tired and I let her go back to sleep. When she woke up she was able to go go school. Zac sent her off as I went back to sleep. When I woke up a few hours later, my speech was back to normal but very very slow. not slurring, clear, but slow. Took me time to think clearly what I was saying. I had to make a few phone calls. I am so good with phone calls but nothing would come to me as usual. I had to look them up instead. I was supposed to have an MRI Saturday but totally forgot. I have another one booked for this coming Saturday. This has been the most scariest situation I have ever been through. I hope it was because I've had a few busy days and I was just way over tired. I slept and although my speech is a little more straightened out, I still have to think slowly before I speech. So this coming Saturday I have an MRI and then the following Monday I have a bone scan. What a totally scary day today :(

  1. Velda, honey. Please talk to the doc. It sounds like a mini stroke.

  2. the exact thing happened to my mom last summer and no one knows what happened or why. She couldn't talk right for a few minutes and nothing came out right, nothing made sense and she couldn't get out what she was trying to say. That is a VERY scary thing to happen!
    Love and hugs

  8. Praying for you my friend. Sounds a lot like a TIA...a transient ischemic attack...which can be described as a mini-stroke. They leave no lasting damage but can be a warning sign. I would go in ASAP.

  9. My Grandfather had dozens of TIAs. You really need to talk to your doctor immediately. I would call now if you haven't already.

There are medications they can give you in certain instances to reverse the effects of a stroke, but only within a certain time limit. Any time words come out wrong, the wrong words come out altogether, part of your face is droopy, you stick out your tongue & it isn't straight, you have the worst headache of your entire life, or you can't move one side of your body you need to call the paramedics.

Because my grandparents had strokes and I have migraine (doubling my risk of stroke), my kids and Jerry have been told what to watch for and what to do if I display any symptoms of stroke or TIA.

I hope you're feeling better. You're in my prayers still!
