Rough first day of 2014

Happy New Year 2014!!!

It was a good visit to KGH and I'm really glad we went. The procedure was horrible. What happened is my tummy where my injections are done has swollen up and there are small bumps under the bruises. The small bumps got bigger and it seemed like they were all amalgamating together. It was VERY hot, red and swollen last night. So we went to KGH first thing this morning. Turns out that there was a lot of fluid accumulated, according to the ultrasound they did. Doc got another Doc's opinion and they both agreed to numb my belly and use a large syringe to remove the excess fluid. Turned out it was all blood and super thick. So the pressure and pain should dissipate over the next week or so. Then they had to take blood to be sure my counts were okay. When the phlebotomist tried to put the syringe in my port, my port moved and it went in wrong. It was excrutiating. She pulled it back out and went to get another nurse to help her. She numbed me and after a short time, tried again and it was successful. The results came back and my blood work was fine, thank goodness. Another nurse came in to show me many other areas to do my injections, so hopefully I won't have this problem again. My tummy is very, very sore right now, so I am just resting today.

This is what my fat tummy looks like and it HURTS!!
